Merry Christmas and Happy 2013!

This might seem a little late coming, but better late than never… Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! I hope that everyone has had a wonderful holiday period.

Now that work is back in full swing (boo), I figured I’d better get back on with blogging.Ā  My couple of weeks off work were pretty action packed, hence why I haven’t posted in a while. The good news is I did A LOT of eating so there will be plenty of restaurant reviews and recipes soon to come!

In the meantime, here are some snapshots of my Christmas day lunch, largely prepared by my talented mum (with help by me!):

Christmas cocktail! A concoction I made with cloudy apple juice, ginger beer and white rum with a splash of guava juice (leftover from our champagne in the morning) with nectarine, lime, pomegranate, green apple and cranberries on top. Delicious!

Prosciutto wrapped prawns for our lunch time entree. Mm-mmm!

An array of salads. All extremely tasty.

Stuffing balls! I made these myself! They turned out to be quite tasty! They’re made with pistachios, apricots and fetta. They make a delicious snack on their own.

Hasselback potatoes. I LOVE potatoes and hasselback is one of my favourite ways to eat them. Tip: hold a pair of chopsticks on either side of the potato and slice through the potato until your knife hits the chopsticks. That way you get perfect slits in your potatoes all ending in the exact same place.

Roast turkey breast and pork stuffed with fig and pistachios. So good!

I hope everyone’s Christmas was as delicious as mine!
